The home that Jw and I share is definitely a crazy one... we really like stuff and we tend to be doing projects (paper, design, music, etc.) all the time. So, it makes sense that Apartment Therapy would post a quick feature on our place, with the very appropriate title, "Josh & Emily's Project-Friendly Apartment"!...

Here are a just few quick pics from the house tour, but be sure to check out the full slideshow and our interview about everything from our style inspirations to our biggest induldence...

You've seen our studio+shop, now enjoy this sneak peek into our tidied-up-for-the-camera living space!

My little sister, Kristen, just started a blog of her own called Sorellina (which means, literally, "little sister"). She intends to explore design with an emphasis on fashion and home, as well as stylish places in and around Atlanta, where she lives. Remember, this is the girl who brought us the amazing flower jacket tutorial (pictured below) - and she has most recently posted an easy-yet-beautiful, lace earrings project (pictured above). She emanates style and creativity, so I suggest you bookmark Sorellina - we're sure to see a lot of gorgeousness on her blog!

Recently I was invited to a "blog sharing" event at one of my favorite places, Chartreuse. Hosted by the ladies at the studio, the purpose of the event was just as it sounds: to take a peek at everyone's favorite blogs, have a bit of discussion, and leave with a list of new blogs to try out.

The mood was energizing and friendly, the food was delicious, and the take-away was valuable. I was introduced to several fun new-to-me blogs, including Kris's Color Stripes. This talented gal finds color inspiration everywhere - and makes "stripes" (or color palettes) from images. Sometimes she even translates them into fun jewelry and home goods for her shop - check it out!

To follow up E's playlist post for Herman Miller's blog, Lifework, you can click on over here to catch a glimpse of my home studio (including my ancient iMac, which will be replaced within the next few weeks - hurrah!) and view/hear my workspace playlist. Note: lovers of 80s music might enjoy this the most.

If it's flame stitch, chances are I love it: take this gift bag from Elum - perfect pattern, perfect color, perfectly non-70s-looking.

It's safe to say that flame stitch belongs in my FAVORITES category and it is included on a list of my favored things at Simple Lovely today. I was thrilled to participate in the "Blogger's Favorites" series last year, and this time around, it was fun to see how things have changed on my radar. Many thanks, Joslyn for the mention - and also for including pics of my shop!

One of the biggest treats for me at Renegade this year was visiting the booth of fellow Chicago company, essimar and meeting the lovely artist behind it all, Esther Ramirez. Seeing all of her amazing work all in one place was incredible.

I mean, seriously, look at all this loveliness ::

I walked away with a stack of beautiful things: notecards, gift tags, a limited edition letterpress print (!), a sweet Mochi print* and a ton of inspiration...

If you missed essimar at the show, no worries: browse her Etsy shop, right here - and her delicious blog, here.

*Esther: Jw and I had a Green Tea and a Coffee Mochi at Bob San the last night of the show!... I couldn't help but think of you! ;)

Jenny of Little Green Notebook recently made over the room her two daughters share, and it is completely striking (see all the images, including before-and-after shots, here and here). Amazingly, she did it on a budget of almost nothing - "shopping" her own collections for furnishings and accessories, changing the look with paint or fabric to suit the new palette. Most of the room's accents, including the art, were DIY and inspired by the depictions and colors of the Chiang Mai Dragon fabric used to re-cover the headboards.

If you aren't already familiar with Jenny's blog/decorating business (Pearl Street Interiors), be prepared to become addicted. She is full of talent and drive, and lucky for us, she is willing to spill all of her sources and secrets for making a lovelier home.
