WMMG? :: IKEA... again.
So, OrangeBeautiful should seriously buy up some IKEA stock... (or at least get an IKEA credit card) -
Yesterday, we headed out to the Bolingbrook location to buy items for our NSS booth - and definitely got an awesome amount of stuff... all for under $1000.00. I love that store. We, of course picked up some non-business-related items, as well (clockwise from top left):
- UNG DRILL decorative frame, $24.99;
- SOMMAR cotton totes, in orange (for B) & black (for me), $7.99/each;
- LIMMAREN green glass bathroom set, $9.99/4-piece set.
WARNING :: IKEA induces purchasing.

i hope you post pictures of your booth! good luck, i used to go set up and work the show when i was at wnp and man it was so much work but some much fun, gotta love the javits.
I love IKEA, too. I just wish we had one nearer by! In case you hadn't already seen this site, here's another couple hundred reasons why you can never have too much IKEA -- http://ikeahacker.blogspot.com/
They just opened an Ikea near me and I've been afraid to go - afraid I'll want to scoop up all these beautiful things. Those bags are fantastic!
CoH :: I agree... so cute.
and, well, unfortunately, the answer to your question is 1) mass production, and 2) overseas manufacturing (in this case: India).
as a craftsperson & small business owner, who attempts to outsource exclusively to US companies (and, in many cases, Chicago-local businesses, when possible), this type of thing is a bit hard to swallow sometimes - however, there's also the realization that IKEA and companies like it, that may have overseas production, certainly do there part to stimulate our own local economies: giving jobs to the people who work at those stores & providing professional-looking, yet cost-effective furnishings for small business like OB to get their start.
whew!... sorry about the long-winded comment - it's just a topic that I've thought about quite a lot.
;)
Those totes are ridiculous~ so cute, and $7.99? How do they do it? I ask you.
nicole :: haha! that's hilarious... if only we'd known, we could've gone together!
we're looking forward to seeing you at NSS!!!
I was at IKEA yesterday, buying items for my NSS booth too! I was at the Schaumburg store though.
I'll be at the show this year - I'll have to find you gals so I can check out your booth. :)
I love that frame! I picked one of those up for myself and it's been a lovely addition in my bedroom.
