Nursery mobile

The mobile is finished! It was actually a fun little project. I wanted something high-contrast for the baby to look at, since I hear they are basically colorblind at the beginning. The simple shapes and icons are actually just fonts like Zapf Dingbats and Webdings, along with a couple I designed myself. I thought too many shapes might be overwhelming to look at, so I backed each card with this chiyogami paper to rest the eye. I've had the metal mobile for awhile and I think I got it at Urban Outfitters, though I don't know if they still carry them. You can get one at Giggle for $15 and create your own mobile too!

this is SO adorable... my brother and sister-in-law have a mobile made with the same clip-action hardware: different family members made animals out of sheets of colored craft foam. I'll have to get some pics of that and post them!!!

I bet yours looks GREAT in that lovely lilac room!
