oh how I miss Barcelona! I had many long, warm afternoons there not so long ago. There's someting so vibrant and alive about the city. And - let's be fair - love him or hate him, to walk around the corner and see yet another Gaudi creation is nothing short of momentous.

You've inspired me to post some of my own pictures on my blog. Time to call me travel agent as well ;)

The sidewalk tile is, like many great things in Barcelona, designed by Antoni Gaudi. He's one of those architects that I really didn't care for very much during school, but those old, black-and-white slides just didn't do his work justice. The attention to detail and the originality and daring of his work is very inspiring.

swoon. i already miss barcelona! (esp since i only had a few hours to shop ... but that's another story) yes, aren't those gaudi sidewalk tiles amazing? meh.
